Excitement soared high at the Podar Nawalgarh Mini Marathon Organized by The Anandilal Podar Trust, witnessed incredible energy from participants across Shekhawati. Kicking off the marathon, Nawalgarh MLA Mr. Vikram Singh Jakhal, along with Trustee Ms. Vedica Podar and Mr. Michael Rees, Second Secretary, Australian High Commission, New Delhi hoisted the green flag at the historic Podar Haveli Museum. Registrations poured in online and offline, totaling over 600 enthusiastic runners across various age groups!
Divided into 2, 3, and 5-kilometer categories, participants sprinted through the scenic routes of Nawalgarh. From ages 10 to 17, 18 to 45, and 46 and above, everyone found their stride in this exhilarating event!
Winners were celebrated with cash prizes, trophies, and certificates during a grand felicitation ceremony at Podar College. It was a proud moment as we honored the incredible achievements of our runners!
Trustee Ms. Vedica Podar commended the winners and highlighted the importance of health awareness for a better Nawalgarh. Kudos to all the team members for making this historic event a roaring success!

The mental health awareness workshop was organized at Seth G.B. Podar College, managed by The Anandilal Podar Trust, Nawalgarh. The workshop was conducted under the auspices of the Podar Trust, with trustee Ms. Vedica Podar as the chief guest and speaker. The program coordinator and Vice Principal, Dr. Vinod Kumar Saini, welcomed Ms. Vedica Podar and introduced the students to the initiatives being undertaken by her for mental health awareness.

During the interactive session, Ms. Vedica Podar engaged with undergraduate students, emphasizing the significance of steering clear from sadness, pressure, and stress. She highlighted the potential benefits of reducing social media usage in student life to alleviate mental stress. Moreover, she stressed the importance of maintaining a balance between one’s environment and society, advocating for fostering mutual empathy and goodwill as a means to bolster mental health.

The workshop also included a lively question-and-answer session, providing students with the opportunity to directly engage with Ms. Vedica Podar on various mental health-related queries. The workshop was attended by various faculty members including Prof. Chetan Dadhich, Dr. Ved Prakash Sharma, Prof. Pramod Kumar Saini, Prof. Sandeep Kumar Jangid, Prof. Vishakha, Prof. Ankit Jangid, Prof. Vinod Kumawat, and many other department members along with all undergraduate and postgraduate students. The workshop was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Shantilal Joshi.

The annual function and prize distribution ceremony based on the theme ‘Dharohar 2024’ was organized at Seth G.B. Podar College, managed by the Anandilal Podar Trust, Nawalgarh. Member of Parliament from Jhunjhunu, Mr. Narendra Kumar Khichar, was the chief guest of the event. Zila Pramukh Ms. Harshini Kulhari, SDM Mr. Lakha Ram Choudhary, District Council member Mr. Birbal Singh Godara, Dr. Dayashankar Jangid, CBEO Mr. Ashok Kumar Sharma, EX.A.EN Mr. Hariram Kaaler, Mr. Kailash Chotiya, Managing Director of Podar Trust Mr. M.D. Shanbhag, COO Dr. Rajendra Kumar, Dr. Shravan Saini, Mr. Shrikant Moraka, and Dr. K.D. Yadav were the distinguished guests.
The ceremony was presided over by the Secretary of Podar Trust, Prof. M.C. Maloo. The program commenced with the offering of garlands and lighting of lamps in front of the statue of Goddess Saraswathi. The guests were welcomed with floral garlands. Rupal Jangid presented the Ganesh Vandana, followed by a cultural presentation on Saraswathi Vandana by Manisha and her team.
Dr. Satyendra Singh, Principal of Podar College, welcomed all the guests, parents, and students on the occasion of the college’s annual festival. He mentioned that Podar College is initiating several new vocational courses from the next academic session. On this occasion, Zila Pramukh Harshini Kulhari addressed the students, stating that Podar College’s students serve as a source of inspiration for all other students, and therefore, one should learn from them and move forward.
MP Mr. Narendra Kumar remarked that Shekhawati’s land is the land of heroes and Bhama Shah. Since independence, Podar Trust has contributed to Shekhawati’s education, and today our Jhunjhunu district excels in education because of it.
Incharge of the Cultural Committee, Prof. Vishakha Punkhia, mentioned that the students of Podar College Nawalgarh and Podar TT College presented delightful performances on Rajasthani folk dances, Haryanvi folk dances, Bollywood dances, Kathak dances, and the Luv-Kush drama, which were special attractions.
Dr. Vinod Kumar Saini, the program coordinator, thanked all the guests, parents, students, media personnel, esteemed citizens, and everyone who directly and indirectly contributed to making the program successful.

The students of Podar College embarked on an educational excursion. Organized by Seth G.B. Podar College, Nawalgarh, the botany department students took part in this educational journey. The excursion team was flagged off by the COO of Podar Trust, Dr. Rajendra Kumar, and Deputy Principal Dr. Vinod Kumar Saini, with a green flag. The excursion team comprised 25 students pursuing M.Sc. in Botanical Science. The team visited the Panchdev Temple in Jhunjhunu, and explored the reserved forest area of Jhunjhunu. The students gained knowledge about the flora, biodiversity, and ecology of the area. Following this, they visited the Panchvati, Birla Museum, and Rani Sati Temple in Pilani. On this occasion, department heads Prof. Suman Saini, Prof. Ankit Jangid, and Prof. Vinod Kumavat provided guidance.

Seth G.B. Podar College, operated by The Anandilal Podar Trust, organized a special seven-day camp under the auspices of Unit-I and Unit-II of the National Service Scheme. Shramdaan work was conducted during the first session on the third and fourth days. N.S.S. Volunteers from both units went to the railway station and contributed their labor. Railway Station Superintendent Mr. Chhajuram Garhwal praised the volunteers’ efforts and awarded them a certificate from the Railways. He provided information about important facts related to their work and encouraged them to convey a positive message in society for their contribution to the national interest. Unit I Program Officer Mr. Sudhir Jangid mentioned that the volunteers also contributed their labor at the Podar College Pavilion in addition to the railway station. During the second session, as part of a road safety awareness campaign, Police Station Officer Mr. Shivdas, Nawalgarh motivated the volunteers to prevent road accidents and wear helmets while riding motorcycles. Following this, a rally was organized by the volunteers. Vice-Principal Vinod Kumar Saini enlightened the National Service Scheme volunteers about the value of life and urged them to maintain vigilance along with goodness in life. Unit II Program Officer Ramesh Pareek expressed gratitude to the guests and briefed the volunteers about the upcoming competition to be held during the camp.

Taking care of your mental health is as important as physical health.” Seth G.B. Podar College, Nawalgarh organized an online seminar on mental health, mental disorders, treatment, and prevention for children under the Children’s Mental Health Week. The keynote speaker was Ms. Vedica Podar, Trustee of The Anandilal Podar Trust.
Addressing the session on mental health for students of class 9 to 12 of GPS, she explained how our conscious and subconscious mind works in our mental health. She also discussed the role of psychiatrists, doctors, and counselors in maintaining mental health. She also talked about the causes of suicide and rising suicides. She also suggested ways to deal with stress and overcome it.
The students asked some questions about the relationship between migraine and mental health, which Ms. Vedika Podar diagnosed and satisfied the students’ curiosity. She also suggested that these sessions should be organized for their parents as well, as parents know more about their children. If parents are concerned about their children’s behavior, they should talk to a professional about their children’s mental health.
Dr. Vinod Saini, Vice Principal, said that this session was very useful for students to understand mental health and how to maintain it. Under the guidance of Hon’ble Trustee Ms. Vedica Podar, the program on mental health for students and employees of all Podar Educational institutions run by Podar Trust will continue till February 9.

Seth G. B. Podar College, run by The Anandilal Podar Trust Nawalgarh, inaugurated the Sports and Cultural Week at Dr. Ramnath A. Podar Sports Complex. In the opening session, Chief Guest C.B.E.O. Ashok Kumar Sharma, Special Guest Manoj Yadav, C.O.O. Dr. Rajendra Kumar, Senior Account Officer Omprakash Jangid, and Principal Dr. Satyendra Singh were present. The inauguration session was presided over by Vice-Principal Dr. Vinod Kumar Saini.

During the inauguration session, the chief guests offered floral tributes to the statue of Goddess Saraswati and lit the ceremonial lamp. The opening session was marked by the warm welcome of the guests by the coordinator, Dr. Vinod Kumar Saini. On the first day of the Sports Week, a cricket match was played, where the B.A. vs M.Sc. match took place, and the B.A. team emerged victorious.

Simultaneously, a cultural event was organized in the Ramnath A. Podar Auditorium of Podar College. Professor Vishakha, the coordinator of the cultural program, explained that on the first day, a poetry recitation, singing, and poster cartoon-making competition were organized with the participation of 28 students. In the self-composed poetry singing, Prateek Jangid secured the first position, followed by Arpit in second place, and Priyanka Saini in third place. In the poster cartoon-making competition, Priti Kumari secured the first position, followed by Divyanshi Soni in second place, and Tejasvi Jangid in third place.

In the sports arena, a second cricket match was played among the student category of the PIMS department and B.S.C. In this match, the B.S.C. team emerged victorious. In badminton, in the girls’ category, league matches were played in the singles category, and Swati, Vinita, Priyanka, Khushi Sharma, Hanshika, and Chanchal emerged victorious. In the boys’ category of badminton, Ronak, Prateek Jangid, Piyush, Saurabh, Ankit, and Ankit Kumar emerged victorious.

During this event, sports coordinators Rajpal Singh, Lt. Kamlesh Kumar, Dinesh Karwasra, Prof. Mukesh Saini, Prof. Seema Saini, Prof. Reena Saini, Prof. Poonam Chaudhary, Prof. Suchita Jangid, Prof. Mahima Soni, Prof. Sunil Saini, along with department heads and lecturers, were present. A large number of students and sports enthusiasts were also present at the sports complex.

Our distinguished alumnus, the internationally acclaimed poet, Mr. Harish Hindustani, graced the occasion as the chief guest. College Principal, Dr. Satyendra Singh, presided over the event, making it an unforgettable gathering. The first session, led by Dr. Vinod Kumar Saini, Secretary of the Alumni Association and Vice-Principal, welcomed all alumni and guests. Recognition certificates were presented, highlighting the Alumni Association’s activities for former students.
In the second session, Mr. Chetan Jaiswal, Kantikumar R. Podar Skill Centre Coordinator (GM), emphasized the vital role of skill development in the 21st-century workplace. He showcased the diverse programs offered by Kantikumar R. Podar Skill Centre, revealing opportunities for graduates in banking, insurance, industry, business, and solar energy. The main guest for the program was the renowned psychologist and mental health advocate, Ms. Vedica Podar. At the beginning of the program, the IQAC Coordinator and Vice-Principal, Dr. Vinod Kumar Saini, welcomed the chief speaker, Ms. Vedica Podar, and provided detailed information about the initiatives being undertaken by her for mental health awareness. Ms. Vedica Podar, the main speaker, delivered an extensive lecture on mental health for college students, addressing the concerns of students regarding mental health. She emphasized that worry, stress, substance abuse, and unwanted thoughts are the biggest obstacles to improving mental health. To stay away from stress, she recommended activities such as dancing, traveling, spending time with friends, maintaining a healthy diet, and ensuring adequate sleep, all of which contribute to better mental health. Ms. Vedica Podar also stated that by finding ways to celebrate generosity and maintaining personal happiness, mental health can be enhanced. Prof. Chetan Dadhich expressed gratitude to Ms. Vedica Podar and all the attendees. NCC A.N.O Lieutenant Kamlesh Kumar thanked all for the guidance given to NCC candidates.

The three-day international conference ‘Aravalli’ concluded at Podar College, managed by the Anandilal Podar Trust, Nawalgarh. The Chief Guest of the concluding ceremony was Dr. Arvind Kumar Mahla., Principal of R.R. Morarka P.G. College. Major activities conducted during the three days, such as paper reading, poster presentation, report writing, and information on abstracts, were discussed by the conference coordinator, Dr. Daulal Bohra. He mentioned that more than 380 participants registered online and offline for the conference, and over 160 participants submitted their research papers and abstracts. Dr. Bohra highlighted the collaboration with institutions such as I.I.T. Jodhpur, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, and I.U.C.N. During the concluding ceremony, certificates and tokens of appreciation were presented to the Best Paper awardees. I.I.T. Jodhpur for the Best Paper, Salvi Kumari from Vidyapeeth Tonk, and Prof. Vishakha from Podar College. In the student category, Yashvi Sharma, Dharmendra Kumar Saini, and Jaima Khatri were honored for the Best Paper. Online paper presentation awards went to Raman Deep Kaur, Deep Ratilal Gaudani, and Dr. Jayana Upadhyay. Tabbsum Sayyad was recognized with a certificate and token of appreciation for the poster presentation. Prof. M.C. Maloo, Secretary of the Podar Trust, discussed the role of the conference in educational development and quality enhancement. The Chief Guest, Dr. Arvind Kumar Mahla, emphasized the importance of promoting research and instilling the spirit of developing India in students.
