Educational Excursion
Seth Gyaniram Bansidhar Podar College’s Department of Zoology, organized an extension activity on biodiversity study and educational excursion on Thursday. Dr. Satyendra Singh, the principal, inaugurated the program by hoisting the green flag. In this study, 32 students from the M.Sc. Zoology department, both postgraduate and undergraduate, and 3 teachers participated.
The academic team conducted a study on biodiversity in the protected area of Mansa Mata, located in Chhapoli, a region spanning approximately 8 kilometers in the midst of the Aravalli range. In this area, work is carried out for the conservation of wildlife, including water distribution structures, fencing, and afforestation for wild animals in the Khau Gram Panchayat. Information was gathered by a 35-member research team during the study.
Following this, the research team visited Mansa Mata and Lavkush Vatika. During the study, the department head, Dr. Daulal Bohra, lecturer Ms. Neha Chaudhary, and Ms. Mahima Soni enhanced students’ scientific knowledge. Dr. Daulal Bohra explained that the Mansa Mata forest area is unique, providing grasslands and grazing resources for wildlife in its early stages. Graduate students of zoology collected samples from the water sources in the Mansa Mata area, which allowed them to study microscopic organisms and the nature of water.
This excursion and research work were aimed at enhancing the students’ educational excellence. On this occasion, best wishes for such research work and educational excursions were conveyed by the Chairman of the Anandilal Podar Trust, Mr. Rajiv K. Podar, Trustee Ms. Vedica Podar, Director Mr. M.D. Shanbhag, and C.O.O. Dr. Rajendra Kumar, as well as the Vice Principal Dr. Vinod Kumar Saini.
