Mental Health Awareness
Taking care of your mental health is as important as physical health.” Seth G.B. Podar College, Nawalgarh organized an online seminar on mental health, mental disorders, treatment, and prevention for children under the Children’s Mental Health Week. The keynote speaker was Ms. Vedica Podar, Trustee of The Anandilal Podar Trust.
Addressing the session on mental health for students of class 9 to 12 of GPS, she explained how our conscious and subconscious mind works in our mental health. She also discussed the role of psychiatrists, doctors, and counselors in maintaining mental health. She also talked about the causes of suicide and rising suicides. She also suggested ways to deal with stress and overcome it.
The students asked some questions about the relationship between migraine and mental health, which Ms. Vedika Podar diagnosed and satisfied the students’ curiosity. She also suggested that these sessions should be organized for their parents as well, as parents know more about their children. If parents are concerned about their children’s behavior, they should talk to a professional about their children’s mental health.
Dr. Vinod Saini, Vice Principal, said that this session was very useful for students to understand mental health and how to maintain it. Under the guidance of Hon’ble Trustee Ms. Vedica Podar, the program on mental health for students and employees of all Podar Educational institutions run by Podar Trust will continue till February 9.
