Panel Discussion: Breaking The Silence
Under the esteemed, The Anandilal Podar Trust and inspired by Ms. Vedica Podar, Founder of Kangaroo Minds, Podar College hosted a powerful panel discussion on mental health titled “Breaking the Silence: A Mental Health Panel Discussion” in the Dr. Ramnath A. Podar Auditorium.
The discussion featured expert insights from Dr. Kapoor Thalor, Nodal Officer for the National Mental Health Program (Jhunjhunu), and Dr. Sachin Kaler from the Government District Hospital, Nawalgarh. They explored the causes and symptoms of anxiety, stress, and depression, emphasizing essential strategies for mental well-being, such as getting 7-8 hours of sleep and maintaining an organized daily routine. The panel also discussed sensitive topics like suicide prevention and the potential mental health impacts of modern influences such as television, social media, and the nuclear family structure.
Ms. Vedica Podar highlighted Kangaroo Minds’ ongoing efforts in mental health management. At the same time, Dr. Vinod Kumar Saini, Director of Public Relations and Institutional Promotion at Podar Trust, expressed gratitude to the panelists and attendees. Dr. Saini announced that the upcoming Mental Health Fest will be held on November 17 at the NCC Ground, furthering the college’s commitment to mental health awareness.
The event saw active participation from community dignitaries and educational leaders, including Dr. Dayashankar Jangid, Mr. Murali Manohar Chobdar, Dr. Durga Bhojak (Principal, Podar Teacher Training College), Dr. Pooja Panwar (Principal, Podar Hindi Medium School), Mr. S.S. Bakshi( Principal, ITI), Mrs. Jyoti Tiwari( Principal, Tiny Toddlers) and many faculty members and students.
