National Unity Day
National Unity Day was organized at Seth G.B. Podar College, under the auspices of the National Service Scheme Units I and II as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav program, commemorating the life and legacy of Sardar Patel. The event was presided over by Chief Guest, Principal Dr. Satyendra Singh, and chaired by Deputy Principal Dr. Vinod Saini.
During the occasion, attendees paid homage to Sardar Patel through a photo tribute. Dr. Anil Sharma, the guest speaker, shed light on Sardar Patel’s life and his significant role in the Indian freedom movement. Professor Shantilal Joshi discussed the integration of princely states after independence, emphasizing Sardar Patel’s contribution to the unity and integrity of the nation. Professor Pramod Saini highlighted the importance of unity and integrity, symbolized by the Statue of Unity, and Kumar delivered a lecture on the message of unity.
The event also featured activities such as poster-making and a quiz competition. Vice Principal Dr. Vinod Saini administered an oath to the volunteers to uphold the unity and integrity of the country.
As a part of the program, volunteers had the opportunity to watch a live telecast of the “Meri Mati, Mera Desh” program from the Statue of Unity in Gujarat. Prof. Sudhir Jangid, the National Program Officer of NSS Unit I, encouraged the volunteers to develop social consciousness and promote national unity. Prof. Ramesh Pareek, the Program Officer of Unit II, welcomed the esteemed guests and expressed gratitude for their presence.
