Seth G.B. Podar College, Nawalgarh, operated by The Anandilal Podar Trust, Nawalgarh, celebrated the 57th Foundation Day of the National Service Scheme (NSS) with enthusiasm and active participation from volunteers of both NSS units.
The celebration commenced with Saraswati Vandana and a warm welcome to the distinguished guests, followed by the inaugural session of the first One-Day NSS Camp of the academic session.
🎤 Dr. Vinod Kumar Saini, Director – Public Relations & Intellectual Property, APT, and Chief Guest, addressed the volunteers on the responsible use of technology and the importance of mental well-being. He highlighted how excessive mobile phone usage can increasingly become a form of addiction and encouraged young people to maintain a healthy balance between technology, family life and mental health. He also urged students to avoid overspeeding and strictly follow traffic rules while riding motorcycles.
📚 Dr. Vidhyadhar Sharma, Head, Department of Mathematics, spoke about different forms of addiction and their harmful effects on individuals, families and society. Highlighting the social responsibility of NSS, he encouraged volunteers to adopt a balanced routine, maintain mental well-being and follow a positive lifestyle. He also emphasized promoting the use of Indian-made products and incorporating positive and meaningful values into everyday life.
🎭 Dr. Anil Kumar Sharma, Department of Hindi, delivered a powerful message against addiction through his poem, inspiring the volunteers to stay away from substance abuse and embrace a healthy and positive way of life.
📋 Dr. Jai Prakash Prajapati, Programme Officer, presented the programme outline and briefed the volunteers about the significance of NSS Day and the One-Day Camp, highlighting the role of NSS volunteers in social awareness and community service.
🙏 The first session concluded with a vote of thanks by Programme Officer Rachna, who expressed gratitude to the guests, speakers, college administration, faculty members and NSS volunteers for their valuable participation.
🎨 Creative Expression for Social Awareness
The second session featured Rangoli and Poster Competitions, where NSS volunteers enthusiastically showcased their creativity. Through colourful designs and impactful messages, students highlighted themes of de-addiction, healthy living and social awareness, transforming their artistic expressions into meaningful social messages.
✨ The celebration reflected the true spirit of NSS — service, awareness, responsibility and active citizenship.
