‘Tree of Hope’ Marks the Beginning of Suicide Prevention Month at Podar College, Nawalgarh
The Anandilal Podar Trust, Nawalgarh, in collaboration with Kangaroo Minds, has launched a month-long awareness campaign for Suicide Prevention Month throughout September at Seth G.B. Podar College.
The campaign began with the installation and plantation of a ‘Tree of Hope’ on the college campus by Nawalgarh Sub-Divisional Officer Ms. Pranjal Kanwar, who shared a powerful message of hope, positive thinking, mental well-being and faith in life. She also expressed her thoughts on suicide prevention on the ‘Wall of Hope’, extending her support to the initiative.
Inspired by the vision of Dr. Vedica Podar, Trustee of Podar Trust and Founder of Kangaroo Minds, the month-long campaign aims to create greater awareness about mental health, encourage open conversations, and promote a culture where people stand by one another during difficult times.
Throughout September, students and staff of Podar educational institutions will actively participate in a series of awareness activities, including:
Awareness Rallies
Seminars & Interactive Sessions
Poster & Rangoli Competitions
Street Plays
‘Tree of Hope’ & ‘Wall of Hope’ Initiatives
Other mental health awareness activities
Campaign Coordinator Dr. Vinod Kumar Saini, Director – PR & IP, highlighted that the initiative seeks to make students and the community more sensitive towards mental health and encourage everyone to recognise the importance of supporting one another when help is needed.
Ms. Pranjal Kanwar appreciated the efforts of Dr. Vedica Podar and the entire Podar Trust team, describing the initiative as an important step towards strengthening social awareness and consciousness around mental health and suicide prevention.
The programme was attended by Mr. M.D. Shanbhag, Executive Director, Podar Trust; Dr. Satyendra Singh, Principal; and members of the Mental Health Core Committee.
Mr. Rajiv K. Podar, Chairman, The Anandilal Podar Trust, expressed his appreciation for the month-long initiative and emphasised that sustained community-level efforts are essential to promoting mental well-being and preventing suicide.
Let’s spread hope. Let’s listen. Let’s stand together. Every life matters.
