Department of Physics

M.Sc. Physics is a two-year postgraduate degree program. The primary objective of offering this course is to help students understand pure and applied Physics and its application in day-to-day life. It is a comprehensive course and finds its application in various fields especially in research and technology.

Candidates who are enrolled in the M.Sc. Physics (specialization in Microwave Electronics) course learn about various topics associated with the concepts of Physics like Classical Mechanics, Nuclear & Atomic Physics,   Electronics, Quantum Mechanics and Spectroscopy etc. The entire course is the combination of the academic curriculum, laboratories, projects and industry-driven programs.

With a comprehensive knowledge of concepts in Physics, students with M.Sc. Physics degrees can find employment in private as well as in the Government sector.

Jobs are available in research labs, IT fields, automobile industry and various government-owned Scientific Research and Development Organizations. Profession is also open for these professionals. Some of the major private companies have a large scope of employment for M.Sc. Physics students are Maruti Udyog, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Wipro and CTS.

While in Government sector major recruiting organizations are Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC),Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL),National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) and Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).

Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Shekhawati University, Sikar has adopted the syllabus of University of Rajasthan, Jaipur for the course.

Any candidate from Rajasthan who has passed his/ her B.Sc. (Mathematics) examination with minimum 55% or 55% marks in Physics  from  recognized University is eligible to apply for the Master’s program. But the candidates from out side the Rajasthan who have passed their B.Sc. examination with minimum  60%  from  recognized University will be eligible to apply for the Master in Physics program.
