Department of Mathematics

M.Sc. (Master of Science) Mathematics is a postgraduate course in Mathematics. The course has duration of two years. The main aim of the course is to provide in-depth knowledge to the students in advanced applied mathematics and prepare them for various research activities. M.Sc. deals with the advanced concepts of Mathematics. It incorporates mathematical thinking in the minds of the students.

In order to be eligible for the course, the students must complete his/her graduation from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% score in PCM stream. M.Sc. deals with the advanced concepts of Mathematics. It incorporates mathematical thinking in the minds of the students.

Some of the subjects which come under M.Sc. in Mathematics are Real Analysis, Algebra, Number Theory, Probability Theory, etc.

Mathematics and Computing students get recruited in software industries, pharmaceutical industries, telecom industries, banks, insurance companies, government organizations, financial institutions, and many more. Other options are to be recruited as Mathematics Specialist, Professor, Teacher, Quantitative Risk Analyst, Quantitative Developer, and many more.

Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Shekhawati University, Sikar has adopted the syllabus of University of Rajasthan, Jaipur for the course.

Any candidate from Rajasthan who has passed his/ her B.Sc.(Mathematics) examination with minimum 55% or 55% marks in Mathematics  from  recognized University is eligible to apply for the Master’s program. But the candidates from out side the Rajasthan who have passed their B.Sc. examination with minimum  60%  from  recognized University will be eligible to apply for the Master in Mathematics program.
